When using Crystal Reports Version 10 to modify an existing RDP report, an error may be received when opening the report file, "Failed to open a rowset". This can occur if the file is selected from the "recently used file list" that appears when the Crystal Designer is first started. This error also can occur when using the recently used file list from the "File" option in Crystal Designer Version 10.
This problem has been reported to Crystal Reports and a future service pack should fix it. The work around is to always use the "file - Open" option to open reports with Crystal Reports Version 10 Designer. Do not use the "recently used" links.
To create or modify reports for RDPWin in Crystal V10 format, customers must purchase a copy of Crystal Reports Version 10 Standard Edition. It can be purchased directly from www.provantage.com. This version is available for under $200.
