Previously, the windows-based RDP report writer, RDP Reporter, used the files REPORTER.TMP and REPORTER.REQ to communicate with the RDP-DOS product. In order to accommodate customers running in a Citrix environment, RDP has made the following change.
Now,
RDP Reporter and the RDP-DOS product use the files RPxxxxxx.TMP and
RPxxxxxx.REQ in the RDP folder ("xxxxxx" equals the unique
station number). By using the unique station number, multiple copies
of RDP Reporter can run on the same workstation.
The RDP-DOS product uses the following means for identifying a unique station number.
| A. | An internal programming call to NetWare that retrieves a portion of the unique Ethernet card number. |
| B. | The environmental variable "station", set in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file, or the RDP icon, for Win 9x clients. |
| C. | The "Environment" setting (My Computer | Advanced Tab | Environmental Variables) for Windows 2000. |
RDP Reporter uses the following means for identifying a unique station number.
| A. | The environmental variable "station", set in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file, or the RDP icon, for Win 9x clients. |
| B. | The command line. If an RDP Reporter shortcut references "Reporter.exe 12", the station number is set to 12. |
In order to communicate, both RDP Reporter and the core RDP product must use the same station number
