Components: "Daily or Once" Definitions

The Daily or Once field on a component has several different options for posting to a reservation.  Some options only apply to rate plan packages, while others may be designed for other charges only. The following information outlines the definition of the options and when each is applicable.

Daily: Included on Every Day of the Reservation

• When Daily: Included on Every Day of the Reservation is selected, the component will post on each day the reservation is in house.
• This option is available for the package components and Other Charges only.
• It does not apply to activities because the activity component's posting date is controlled by the date the activity is assigned or if the Auto Repeat is selected on the activity or the default set on the activity vendor.

Once: On Arrival Date

• The Once: On Arrival Date option will post the component only if the package assigned with this component is the rate plan used for the arrival date on a reservation. If the guest has a different rate plan on the arrival and the package assigned to subsequent days of the stay has components using Once: On Arrival Date, these components will NOT post.
• This option does not have an effect on Other Charges, as they will always post on the arrival date.
• Activity components assigned using Once: On Arrival Date will not be effected either. The activity component will post based on the date the activity is assigned to the reservation.

Once: On First Day of Rate Plan 

• The Once: On First Day of Rate plan option posts the package component on the first day the package is assigned to the reservation. If the reservation is using a different rate plan prior to changing to the package plan, the components will post the first night the package is in use.
• This option does not have an effect on Other Charges, as they will always post on the arrival date.
• Activities components assigned using Once: On First Day of Rate Plan will not be effected either. The activity component will post based on the date the activity is assigned to the reservation.

Percent of Room Charge

• Percent of Room Charge looks at Bucket 0 transactions only and calculates the percent based the amount entered in each season of the component.
• This option was originally designed for Other Charges but will work with package components.
• Package components can be created as a Percent of Room Charge but the component will only base the percent off of the Bucket 0 transactions for this package only. If other rates are assigned to the reservation, the component will not calculate any other Bucket 0 transactions.
• This option is not available for activities. If selected for an activity component, the charge will post the amount entered in each season as a dollar amount instead of a percent.

Percent of Total Rate

• The Percent of Total Rate is calculated based on all "V" transactions (all rate transactions are V transactions). This includes all package components that have been included in the rate plan transaction.
• This option is only valid for Other Charges.
• It does NOT apply to package components or activities. If selected for an activity component, the charge will post the amount entered in each season as a dollar amount instead of a percent.

Percent of Total Charge

• The Percent of Total Charge option is calculated based on all transactions excluding any deposits.
• This option is only valid for Other Charges.
• There can only be one Other Charge configured as a Percent of Total Charge.
• It does NOT apply to package components or activities. If selected for an activity component, the charge will post the amount entered in each season as a dollar amount instead of a percent.
