Disable Transaction Codes

Added: 11/24/03 - Version:12.02 - Revision: 301 - Article ID#: F000073

Revision 301 now allows for a transaction code to be disabled so that it cannot be posted. For example, assume you have a B244 code for "Dog Sled Rides", and that you no longer offer this service.  You cannot delete the B244 code until the end of the year to keep the accounting system in balance.  You can now disable the code as follows:

  1. Update to RDP-DOS Version 301 or higher.
  2. Use Menu 98, option 182, Sub-option 3 to change a transaction code
  3. Select the code to change. You can disable codes on any ledger, such as Guests (B2), Owners (B7), etc.
  4. Select "H" to change the header and press enter to get to the "look" column in the header.  Change the "Look" setting to "D" for "Disable".
  5. Press <Enter> several times and file the change.
