Use the following instructions for updating your RDP Version 12.02 system from an existing 12.02 version.  A list of new RDP-DOS features is available.

  1. Print this page using the "Print" button on your browser. Make sure you are logged into the network as a user with full rights to the RDP folder on the Data Server.
  2. Click here to download the V12.02 Update file, WEB1202.EXE.  You should receive a prompt similar to the following:
  3. You must click the "Save" option.  DO NOT click "Run" or "Cancel".  The RDP-DOS update must be run from a Command Prompt with the steps that follow.  After clicking "SAVE", use the drop down box to browse to your RDP folder on your data server.  The screen should look similar to the one below.  Highlight the "RDP" folder and then click the "Open" button and then click "Save".
  4. If prompted that the Web1202.exe file already exists, click "Yes" to replace this file.
  5. After saving the file, the "download complete" option box should appear, similar to the below.
Warning:  You must click the "CLOSE" option.  Do NOT click "Run" or "Open Folder".  The RDP-DOS update must be run from a Command Prompt with the steps that follow.  Click "Close" to complete the download.
  6. Open a command prompt.  Click the "Start" button and select "run".  Type "command" in the Open: prompt and select OK.  The Command Prompt should appear.
  7. Navigate to the RDP folder on your data server.  In the example below, the RDP folder is on the "F" drive.  Your drive letter may be different.  To move to the RDP folder on an "F" drive, type the following commands into the command window:

    F:                   <Press Enter>
    CD\RDP          <Press Enter>

The command window prompt should then be F:\RDP>, as displayed below. Remember, your drive letter could be different, such as G:\RDP>.
  8. From the RDP command prompt, type "WEB1202" and press <Enter>.   If prompted with "Warning! FORMSNEW.ZIP already exists.  Overwrite (y/n).  (Enter "A" for "overwrite all")", enter "A" for "All".  This overwrites all the older versions of the ZIP files that are in the RDP folder.  Note:  The "A" for "All" does not appear as a choice, but it should work depending on the current version of Windows.  If this does not work, you may have to enter "Y" for "Yes" several times).
  9. After unzipping all the files in the previous step, type "UNZIP12" and press <Enter>.  The new programs should then be unzipped.  If the update proceeded correctly, the following message should be displayed.
  10. If any error message appears, it is critical to call RDP support at 970-845-7108 immediately. The error screen would appear similar to the following:
  11. Assuming the update completed successfully, restart the RDP system and verify the version of the system correct. In the example below, the system is on release (00259), which is displayed on the third line in the middle of the screen.  This version must match the version downloaded in Step 2.
  12. A list of new RDP-DOS features is available.
