February 23, 2012 Cancel No-Shows

Use the Cancel No-Show Reservations program located under the Night Audit menu to quickly cancel multiple reservations at a time. Select only the reservations that you want to cancel, and choose to forfeit or hold the deposit on the reservation.

  The IRM.Net has 9 additional preferences that can be configured to help guests search for rooms, for a total of 18 preferences.
February 21, 2012 Set switch 414-28 to Yes to display the Reservation Detail screen when using the Add Room program. This allows you to add the new reservation's contact information instead of having to save the reservation and return to it to complete this information.
February 17, 2012 Use the Process Held Deposits to globally forfeit deposits held on account for cancelled reservations.
February 16, 2012 Hide the Toolbar and disable the function keys for certain users using the UI Security.
February 15, 2012 Set switch 425-26 to Yes in order to hide cancelled reservation on the F3 Find Res screen and the Reservation List.

February 2, 2012 Test your backup system regularly.  Making a daily backup is very important but if that backup does not work, you may encounter serious problems if restoring data is required. 
February 1, 2012 If a reservation was cancelled and the deposit was forfeited by mistake, delete the forfeit transaction to refund or hold the deposit on account.

January 31, 2012 Configure RDPWin to add guests to the CRM automatically at check-in. Check the Allow Add to CRM from Reservation Screens box from the CRM Configuration to enable this feature.
January 30, 2012 Package components can now be charged as a percent of the room charge. The component amount will calculated based on the amount entered on the component and rate set portion.
January 27, 2012 RDPWin version 2 customers: if you get errors when running the 1099s, please contact support to resolve these issues.
January 26, 2012 New settings have been added to the IRM.Net Configuration that can hide rooms when a rate is not available or hide rooms when a promo code is not available.
January 25, 2012 Customize the order your confirmations will display when emailing or printing from a reservation. Change the Sequence field from the Reporter menu --> Configuration --> Confirmation Settings tab.
January 24, 2012 Print or file electronic 1099s for Travel Agents in RDPWin from the Accounting menu --> Electronic 1099. This feature is available in RDPWin 3.0.010.16 or higher.
January 23, 2012 Use the Maid Phone Interface to change the room status directly from the telephone in the room.
January 18, 2012 Use the Available Rooms button from the Group Rooming List to assign rooms to group members while doing the rooming list.
January 17, 2012 Set Switch 421-10 to Yes to display cash back when a cash payment is taken that is more than the balance due.
January 13, 2012 More new configurable Tape Chart colors have been added for in-house reservations.  A different color can display for checked in guests that have no deposit paid, a partial deposit, or those that are fully paid.
January 12, 2012 Use the Display Folio button at the bottom of the Post Charge screen to see all charges before posting.
January 9, 2012 Don't forget to use the Folio Type Override field when posting charges. This field allows you to select where the charge will be routed, such as to the Master, Leader, Folio A, Folio B, etc. This saves you from having to change the transaction to the correct folio after it has been posted.

January 5, 2012 Right click on any reservation in the Tape Chart and select Show in Reservation List. This option goes directly to the reservation list and is particularly useful for viewing group reservations with the entire group listed.
January 4, 2012 Add a flat credit card fee to charge owners for each credit card transaction that occurs for reservations in their unit. This can be in addition to the credit card fee percentage already charged.
January 3, 2012 RDP has released the Nor1 eStandby Upgrade module that allows guests the opportunity to upgrade their room for a fee once their IRM reservation is complete. This is a chance for you to increase revenue and provide a better guest experience.

December 30, 2011 RDPWin Version 3 customers that have not updated to Version 3.0.010.06 or higher must do so by the end of the year.
December 29, 2011 Use the new Housekeeping Billing module to automate the process of charging owners or guests for housekeeping services. Set up the hourly rate for the clean types you wish to post, and the charges go directly on the owner account or reservation folio depending on the configuration.
December 28, 2011 Avoid X-ing out of RDPWin by mistake by checking the Confirm RDPWin Exit option in the System menu -> Configuration -> System.
December 27, 2011 Require a credit card for Owner Referral (R Type) reservations on the IRM.Net without taking a deposit. The card will not be charged if the Do Not Take a Deposit is checked, but is stored on the reservation for future use.
December 23, 2011 Enter a dollar amount instead of a percentage for Discount Rate Plans. Select the Dollar radio button on the Rate Plan screen and enter the amount of the discount.
December 22, 2011 Use the new Convert Comp to Preassign or Inventory from the Covert Res Type sub menu to change a C type reservation to a P or I type.

December 8, 2011 Update to the latest version of RDPWin and the Requested Start Date field on a Task prompts for the arrival date of the reservation. Before it would default to the current system date, but often the task isn't to occur until the guest's arrival date.
December 7, 2011 Keep an eye on your competition. Get alerts from Google on a phrase, name, brand, or URL. Use it to find out if someone writes a review about your property. Google automatically emails you an alert.
December 6, 2011 Use a custom Crystal Report for credit card receipts that can include logos and pictures. Update to the latest version of RDPWin for this feature.
December 5, 2011 Customize the 'Requirements' label (notes) for rate plans on the IRM.Net. Change the word 'Requirements' that displays as the column header on the rates grid to Dates, Notes, or any other applicable label.
December 2, 2011 If guests are making an IRM reservation with today's arrival, exclude rooms that are not clean in order to prevent them from selecting a room that is dirty or not ready.
December 1, 2011 Set up the folio to be emailed to guests after they check-out. Configure the folio report in the Reporter Configuration --> Confirmation Settings tab, and email it just like you email a confirmation.

November 30, 2011 Check out the Menu Shortcuts located under the Help menu. This shows the keyboard shortcuts for each module.
November 29, 2011 Owner Referral confirmations are now available in RDPWin.  Set up the confirmation you would like to use from the Reporter --> Configuration --> Settings tab. Then assign that confirmation to the Owner Referral Reservation Type on the Confirmation Associations tab.
November 28, 2011 If using property codes, the IRM.Net can have different custom themes based on the property code.  Change the look and feel of the IRM.Net for each property code when it is passed in through the marketing website. Update to the latest version of the IRM.Net for this feature.
November 23, 2011 If looking for a topic in the RDPWin Help, use the Index tab instead of the Search tab. The Search tab returns all pages with that term in it, while the Index tab only displays the indexed keywords.
November 22, 2011 Update to the RDPWin 3.0.009.08 so the IRM Password field on the owner, guest history, group, and travel agent masters is masked.

November 17, 2011 Statements for owners, groups, travel agents, and work order vendors can be re-opened once they are closed. This removes the statement marker and the corresponding voucher transaction in order for changes to be made to the account.
November 7, 2011 This month, RDP is offering the VRP Credit Card Module for free.  Use VRP as your processor to receive the lowest possible rates, or simply as a credit card gateway for a low monthly fee.
November 4, 2011 Use the RDPWin Monitor to automatically send out email confirmations. It allows you to designate the appropriate confirmation for each different reservation type. Confirmations can be sent after the reservation is saved, cancelled, or checked-out.
November 3, 2011 For a complete list of all your guest history records, go to Masters --> Guest History --> Analysis. Right click to export the grid to Excel.
November 2, 2011 Simplify the New Reservation screen by turning off certain features that you don't use. Go to the Reservation Configuration --> New Res tab and Hide the Quote Area if you aren't using quotes, or Collapse Masters if you don't assign groups or agents immediately.
November 1, 2011 If you need to make changes or print a folio for a non-active reservations, use Transfer 1 Res from Non-Active in the Transfer to History program.

October 6, 2011 Use the Group Rooming List option to quickly assign names and emails to each member of the group. The right click menu can print or export to excel in order to send the rooming list to the leader of the group.

September 30, 2011 To scroll through the Tape Chart using the mouse's scroll wheel, single click on any room listed on the left side. This will activate the scroll function on the mouse, allowing you move clicking through the list of rooms.
September 23, 2011 Set group defaults for daily charges from the Daily Charges tab on the group master. This feature is available in RDPWin 3.0.009.01 or higher.
September 22, 2011 Guest Communication module allows you to configure and send messages from RDP directly to the guest's mobile phone.
