Preparing for Version 3 Updates
RDP software is PCI compliant and certified. Features only
available in Versions 3.0 and higher are listed below.
- RDP software is PCI compliant and certified. The deadline for customers to be PCI compliant is
July 1, 2010. All RDP customers must upgrade to Version 3 in order to meet
PCI standards. Please review
Payment Card Industry (PCI) Compliance for more details.
- Version 3 has four numeric characters: Major, Minor, Build and
Revision.
- The Major number will not change until Version 4.
- The Minor number will only change if we go through the PCI mini
certification for any PCI related changes.
- The Build number is the matching number for all .Net related
projects. So as long as the first three numbers are the same in the
revision, the products like IRM.Net and RDPWin will work together.
- The Revision (last) number is incremented each time a new
installation file is created.
- RDP software is PCI compliant and certified. One of the requirements
of PCI certification is to force
Credit card number encryption and user data.
- Protobase 6.01 and RDPWin 3.0 sends payments over the Internet as
eCommerce transactions. eCommerce transactions require a separate
merchant number in order to get lower processor fees. IRM.net sends the
Internet Terminal ID to Protobase when populated. Otherwise, the
Alternate Terminal ID is used.
- RDP software is PCI compliant and certified. One of the requirements
of PCI certification is to no longer show the user drop-down on the
logon screen. The name and password must be entered.
- RDP software is PCI compliant and certified. One of the requirements
of PCI certification is t that passwords are required to have letters
(lower and upper case) and numbers and be from 7 to 15 characters long.
Customers must enter new passwords for all users.
- RDP software is PCI compliant and certified.
One of the requirements of PCI certification is that all logon/passwords
must be in Users.dat (Manage Users) instead of Table PW.
- RDP software is PCI compliant and certified. One of the requirements
of PCI certification is that a unique user is required per session. No
more "Front" user for all front desk clerks. As a result, the system
will no longer prompt for the user initials with Switch 421-09.
- The Microsoft .Net framework 3.5 SP1 is required. There are some new
programming features and speed improvements in this framework which
makes it an excellent time to upgrade. The installation programs
take care of checking for this and starting the download and install of
the framework if it isn’t on the computer being installed.
