Travel Agents

The settings described below pertain to how the IRM handles travel agent reservations.

Allow Travel Agent Reservations

The IRM screen initially displayed to Internet guests is normally the “Access Type” page.  This page allows up to five Internet reservation choices, including:

The Travel Agent choice is optional and is controlled with the “Allow Travel Agent Reservations” feature.  When activated, the travel agent enters its RDP master number along with a password.  Once the username and password are verified, the travel agent proceeds with booking the Internet reservation.  A travel agent's master number can be accessed from within the RDP-DOS system using the following steps.

  1. From the RDP Main Functions menu, select menu "8" - "Travel Agent Master & History".
  2. Select option "202" - "Change Travel Agent".
  3. Enter the travel agent name or number.
  4.  The password is stored in field #29.
Require Credit Card Entry

Use this feature if travel agents are required to enter a credit card in order to hold a reservation.  With this feature activated, the rules in the "Deposit" section also apply to travel agent reservations.

Display Guests for Agent

With this option activated, the verification page displays a past guest listing along with information from the travel agent master record (i.e. - name, address, phone).

Display Historic Checkouts

Travel agent reservations that have transferred to non-active history are suppressed on the travel agent verification page unless this option is activated.

E-Mail Address Required

With revision 2.025 of the IRM, a guest e-mail address is required for travel agent reservations.

Set Commission Code for IRM Travel Agent Reservations

Commission Codes for Travel Agent reservations made through the IRM can either be taken from each Travel Agent master or specified in IRM Options.  The prompt on the IRM Options configuration page is shown below, which gets the commission codes from the C7 table:

When "From Travel Agent Master" is chosen, the Commission Code is taken from the Travel Agent master.  When "CC - 15% Commission Rate" is chosen, all IRM Travel Agent reservations would have to pay a 15% commission code regardless of the settings in RDPDOS.
