Use the "Appearance" section for changing the background colors for the main and banner pages. Colors and their names are displayed in this section along with fields for entering a background image. The IRM is installed with standard background images in the IRM\bg folder. Custom background images can be added to this folder and references in this section.
Even though reservations are stored on the data server, you MUST back up the IRM server (or at least c:\inetpub\wwwroot\irm) to save your pictures, HTML files, etc. You might lose weeks, months, or even years of work. It is absolutely essential to back up the IRM.
NEVER uninstall and then reinstall the IRM from a live site. That would delete all the HTML files. If you must uninstall/reinstall, make a copy of the IRM folder someplace FIRST so you can copy back files.
Note: Use the "Repair" option of the IRM install without problems. Repair does not "overwrite" the files. It is the UNINSTALL step that deletes all the HTML files (i.e., every file that was copied to the IRM server by the "install" is deleted by the "uninstall"!).
Fields in the "Appearance" section are described below.
Various background colors for the IRM pages can be selected. Colors and their names are displayed. Be aware that colors displayed within specific browsers may look different depending on Windows color settings and graphics capabilities.
Background images can be created and displayed. For example, a “water mark” background image can be displayed on all pages. The background image should be very subtle. Place background images in the \InetPub\wwwroot\IRM\bg folder.

Place background images in the \InetPub\wwwroot\IRM\bg folder. The IRM will wipe out the background and/or banner image in the monitor page if the image does not exist in the \bg\folder.
The links and text colors within the banner can also be modified. Please co-ordinate background colors and text colors carefully. Please see IRM Tips for co-ordinating the IRM colors to the main website.

Background Color for Action Tables
“Action Tables” list guest options. For example, the available room types, rate plans and available rooms (pre-assign only) screens display action tables. The guest must choose one of these appropriate options to continue. Colors selected for action tables should attract the eye to the table. In general, these colors should be kept light so that the text is easy to see.
Background Color for Information Tables
As Internet guests choose options from action tables, the information is displayed on subsequent pages in “Information Tables”. These tables include the guest’s arrival date, departure date, number of nights, number of people, room type, rate plan and more depending on the settings in the “Rate Plan” section.
Replacement for the word 'Room' on all pages
The IRM displays the text " Rooms " throughout the Internet
Reservation Module. This switch allows
up to a 20 character text replacement for the word "Room"
Our Condominium
and Villa Rental properties can re-label this text to something more appropriate
such as "Accommodations " or " Villas" throughout the
IRM. Example:
