Force Guest to click "I read the reservation policies"

Last Revised:  10/21/2006 - IRM Revision - 2.330 - Article ID#: I000108

Many customer have requested a checkbox with wording similar to "I have read the reservation and cancellation policies and agree with them", and make it mandatory that guests click this checkbox to complete the IRM reservation.  This feature is now available in IRM2-330. This feature can be activated as follows:

  1. Update to IRM version 2.330 or higher.  See "IRM Update Page"
  2. Start the IRM monitor and go IRM Options, and then to the the reservation section.
  3. Put a check in the new checkbox for, "Require guest to verify they have read the reservation and cancellation policies".  Save the settings and exit the IRM monitor
  4. The standard wording will be, "I have read and agree to the reservation and cancellation policies above".  This will appear on the page where the user enter their name, address, and credit card information.  If you wish to change this standard wording, use Microsoft front page and modify the file \IRM\UserText\ReadResPolicy.htm".  Note:  If you have more than one RDP database that is accessed by one IRM server you must copy the "ReadResPolicy.HTM" file to the 01UserText, 02UserText, and other folders
  5. A sample of the new wording appears below
