The "Reservations" section defines how Internet reservations are booked. In addition, required fields are defined and confirmations are formatted. The fields in the "Reservations" section are defined below.
Place a checkmark in this box in order to require Internet guests to enter their state. Properties relying on the "Reservations by State" statistical report should activate this option. Without this option activated, the revenue for each Internet reservation will fall under the "Undefined State" category.
Place a checkmark in this box in order to require Internet guests to enter their zip code. Properties who place an emphasis on past guest mailings should activate this feature in order to collect guest zip codes.
Place a checkmark in this box in order to require Internet guests to enter their country. Properties doing a large amount of international business should activate this option.
Place a checkmark in this box in order to require Internet guests to enter their phone number in the first phone field. The default for this switch is Yes.
Place a checkmark in this box in order to require Internet guests to enter a phone number in the second phone field.

Once a rate plan or package is flagged as "Group Only", a group master must be added to the reservation in order for the rate plan to display as a choice. However, with this feature activated, all rate plans display for the Internet guest, regardless of whether or not they are flagged as "Group Only".
With this feature activated, pictures are displayed while Internet guests are viewing available room types. The pictures displayed depict the type of room. For example, if the property has "KING" rooms available for the dates entered, the IRM displays a picture of a "KING" room type. Please see the section titled "Customizing the IRM using Pictures and HTML" for additional information about adding pictures to the Internet guest's IRM experience.
However, if your property utilizes property codes in order to define a unit's location, activate this feature by entering a checkmark in the box.
Enter a checkmark in this box if the room number or room type calendar should NOT be displayed to the guest on the detail page. RDP recommends displaying the calendar. With the calendar displayed, a guest can view the room or room type's availability without having to "guess" available dates.
Place a checkmark in this box in order to require Internet guests to enter their e-mail address in the Verify E-Mail field. This field is compared to the E-Mail field to ensure that both fields have the same input. Properties who receive or want to avoid receiving numerous "bad" e-mail addresses should activate this feature.
Hide # to Display on RoomType Page
By default, the Room # to Display selection box appears on the Room Type page. Properties with less than 5 unit types should consider this switch to de-clutter the Room Type page.

Hide
' Not Available ' Rooms or Room Types
Place a checkmark in this box to hide rooms or room types not available for the dates requested by the IRM guest.
Hide People classifications 3 & 4
People classifications 3 and 4 can be disabled in the IRM Only. A property can use these 2 people classifications in the RDPDOS product and at the same time disable them in the IRM.
*With IRM Revision 2-142 and above, People Class 2 can also be disabled.
Set People 2 Field equal to People 1 Field
People 2 Field is used by some properties to calculate packages, and for IRM reservations is always equal to People 1 Field. Selecting this option will automatically set People 2 Field equal to People 1 field on the reservation, although People 2 field does not display on the IRM.
Display HTML Descriptions of People Classes
In the IRM, people class descriptions default to the descriptions in RDP Dos. However, properties that sell packages and use all 4 people classes may want to display a more detailed description. To activate this feature check the box " Display HTML Descriptions of people classes, under the reservation section, on the monitor configuration page.

This serves 2 purposes
1. To better guide the internet guest when making
a reservation.
2. The package will be correctly calculated based on the people class entries.
Short and Long HTML descriptions can be displayed, as shown below:

Each People class has a corresponding People#Short.htm
and People#Long.htm file in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\irm\usertext.
Hide Occupancy Field on Room Type Listing page
Hide the Occupancy count displayed on the Unit Type Display page. Example: The actual maximum on this Room Type is set to 4 people in RDP-DOS. The property still has the flexibilty to allow up to 2 adults and 2 children in that same room type but would prefer not to show this information to the IRM customer.

Display room types based on RoomTypeOrder.txt
Properties with many specific room types may want to display them in a property defined sequence on the IRM. Using a defined sequence, the property can display the next best fit to the guest when their first choice is unavailable. More Details
Hide option to search for specific Room Type on Room Type page
By default, a Room Type selection box appears on the Room Type page. This search criteria allows for a guest to search for the availability of a specific Room Type. Properties with a small number of unit types can use this check box "Hide Room Type choices on Room Type page" . This allows the property to hide the Room Type selection box ( See below ) and continue to search by room types.

In order to speed up the available room type display, the number of room types displayed to the Internet guest can be limited. The number of available room types can be set between 1 and 99.
The IRM includes an availability calendar for both room numbers and room types, depending on the setting for pre-assign or inventory reservations (see below). With either reservation type setting, the maximum number of calendar months is set with this field. The default is four, the minimum is four, and the maximum is 12.
If the property only accepts Internet reservations that are arriving a set number of days in the future, complete this field. For example, if the property requires that Internet reservations be made three days prior to arrival, set this field to "3".
Enter the default tax code for Internet reservations. Normally, this code is "TA".
Enter the label for the first guest phone number on the "Reservation Entry Form". For example, the property could collect a "Day-Time Phone" and an "Evening Phone" number for the Internet guest. Or, the labels could be set to "Home Phone" and "Cellular Phone".
Enter the label for the second guest phone number on the "Reservation Entry Form". For example, the property could collect a "Day-Time Phone" and an "Evening Phone" number for the Internet guest. Or, the labels could be set to "Home Phone" and "Cellular Phone".
