The IRM “Rate Plan” page can be configured to display any system rate plan or only one rate plan. If the option for “Display All Internet Rate Plans” is selected, each specific rate plan must be designated as “On IRM”. Use RDP-DOS, option 186 on the System Manager menu to change the “On IRM” field to a “Y”.
It is also possible to create a rate plan as only available for the IRM. This rateplan will not display for the reservationists at the property when making a reservation with the RDPDOS or RDPWin system. To activate this feature, when creating a rate plan with RDP186 make sure field 13, IRM ONLY is set to "Y".
In addition, to posting room charges and packages to the guest, the IRM can be configured to post daily charges. In RDPDOS the Daily Charge Table ( DD ) has a field which allows an IRM Default to be set for each daily charge category.
In the IRM Monitor, under IRM Options the following switch can be set to display "Daily Charges" on the rate page on the IRM.
When this switch is checked, a column for Daily Charges will show when the rates are displayed.
If the switch is not checked, the Tax and Total columns will still include the daily charges.
Deposits will always include daily charges.
If daily charges are taxable items then those taxes will also be included in the total tax column.
The heading " Daily Charges " can be modified by changing \IRM\UserText\DailyCharges.htm.
All rate plans flagged for IRM display in the RDP-DOS system are displayed to the Internet guest.
Enter the one rate plan available for Internet guests. For example, RACK.
Should the IRM display the total charges for the guest's stay? If so, activate this feature.
Should the IRM display the total tax for the guest's stay? If so, activate this feature.
Should the IRM display the total charge (room charges plus tax) for the guest's stay? If so, activate this feature.
With this feature activated, the IRM displays a "Rate" column on the Internet confirmation. A sample is displayed below.
With this feature turned off, the Internet confirmation does not display a "Rate" column.
Many properties require a security deposit in order to book reservations. With the IRM, packages can be created in the RDP-DOS system that include a "Security Deposit" component. (All security deposits accrue to bucket 3.) With this feature activated, the IRM breaks out the security deposit as an individual component on the rate screen. A sample is displayed below.
UserHtml files can be created to store Rateplan and Package requirements. Prior to IRM revision 2-085, this text was stored in RDP-DOS under the F6 notes on the rateplan. Properties using multiple languages on their IRM can use this feature to create multiple Userhtml files.
In FrontPage, create a file called xxxx.htm where xxxx represents the 4 digit rateplan code example Rateplan RACK would require a RACK.HTM file. Save this file on the IRM server in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\irm\userhtml folder
With this option selected, the guest sees the four-digit rate code on the Internet confirmation. For example, the rate code for the "Rack Rate" may be "RACK.
Many properties turn off this feature because the four-digit rate code is not very descriptive to the Internet guest.
With this feature activated, rate plans that are not currently available display in the rate table. By displaying these rates, Internet guests are aware of specials that may be available throughout the year. A sample rate table is displayed below. Note the radio button for invalid rate plans is greyed-out.
With this option selected, rates that are cut-off through the RDP Yield Management system are displayed in the IRM rate table with a description alerting the guest that the rate is not currently available. In the sample rate table below, the "Honeymoon Package" is currently cut-off.
Rate plan cut-offs are entered in the RDP-DOS system with option 117 on the System Manager menu (98).
Note: A " No Rates Found " error message on the IRM indicates the Property must define the People Pattern in RDP-DOS using option 186 Maintain Variable Packages, option 1 on the System Manager menu (98). An e-mail will be sent to the main contact at the Property if this should occur, alerting them to update their system. This may happen when new Unit Types are added to a system. Please contact RDP Support for more information.
