The 17 reservation comment fields available in the RDP-DOS system can be configured to display on the IRM. With comment fields configured to display on the IRM, the guest will be prompted to complete the necessary fields. Each comment field can be setup as a required or optional field. In addition, comment fields can be configured to display for guests, travel agents, repeat guests, or owners.

There are 17 comment fields used in the RDP-DOS system. The headings for these fields are located in table CO sub-records "C01" through "C17". Each subrecord also contains the flags for which guest type the comment field is active for and if it's required. This section contains the following columns.
This section adds descriptions for each comment field. The “Text” fields are used to enter an Internet heading that can be up to 20 characters. The "#1" field corresponds to the first comment field heading listed in RDP-DOS table CO sub-record "C01". Fields "#1" through "#3" correspond to fields 40 - 42, respectively, on the first page of the reservation in the RDP-DOS system. Fields "#4" through "#17" correspond to fields 44-57, respectively, on the second page of the reservation in the RDP-DOS system.
Should this comment field be displayed for Internet guests? Check each guest type the comment field should appear for.
If the comment field is required, check this column. The guest will not be able to complete the reservation without filling in the field.
Note: Click the "Save" button before entering the "Selections" option. Otherwise, the above settings will be lost when you return from the "Selections" option.
This section creates the <F3> Look-Up table in RDP-DOS for each comment field.
With IRM Revision 2-119, if no selections are listed, a text box will be provided for the guest to enter the appropriate information.
Enter a description that the guest will see in a drop-down box. For example, if one of the choices is "Non-Smoking", enter "Non-Smoking" as a description. This description will be seen in the comment field in RDP-DOS when the reservation is made.
Enter up to 6 characters as a subrecord. For example, enter NSK as the "Non-Smoking" subrecord.
Check this box if this option is to appear on the IRM. If it's not checked, the option will still appear in RDP-DOS.
Use the following fields for adding or deleting selections.
To add a selection, enter a description, subrecord, and check the "Show on IRM".
After entering the new selection, click the "Save" button.
Use the following steps for deleting a selection.
The selection is deleted and the remaining entries are redisplayed.
The Internet Reservation Module (IRM) allows Internet guests to make reservations directly into the RDP system without involvement from the property’s reservation staff. This section provides links to instructions for configuring the IRM after the Windows 2000/2003 bridge server has been installed.
Remember to backup the C:\Inetpub directory every day on the IRM server to avoid losing important files and pictures. See Backup for more details.
