IRM Configuration - Monitor Overview

The IRM Monitor displays various IRM information and can be accessed using Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher as follows:

From Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher, type one of the following:

Choose Property

For customers managing several IRM installations on the same fileserver, the "Choose Property" field is used to switch between configuration options on each resort.  For example, a customer may have three options on the "Resorts" screen, 01, 02, and 03.  These three choices also display in this drop-down box.

Choose Language Properties using our Multiple Languages feature can choose a language from the dropdown.  When "Start IRM" or "See File Names" is clicked, the IRM will start, using the files in the folders for the specified language.
Refresh &Refresh Rate The IRM updates the monitor information periodically, based on the Refresh Rate.
Login Name This is the name the IRM uses to Login to the IRM Bridge Server and the Data Server
Session ID Each web server session is assigned a unique session ID number.   The number displayed here is for the monitor's session and may be needed by RDP support.
Btrieve Client ID Each IRM session is also assigned a unique "Btrieve Client ID ". Client ID's are assigned a sequential number from 1 to 32,000.  Once at 32,000 the number cycles back to 1. This number is also automatically reset when the IRM application or IIS is  restarted.
Session Count Number of users with active sessions.  The monitor is counted as a session so the lowest number is always one.   Check this setting before downing the IRM server so an Internet guest is not disconnected from the IRM in the middle of a session.  If a guest using the IRM exits, the session is not cleared for 20 minutes.
IRM Directory Displays where the IRM application is located, which should always be c:\inetpub\wwwroot\irm
Current Resort Displays the data path and resort description for the current RDP data directory.  Properties using the IRM for multiple resorts should always note this setting prior to updating IRM settings with the "Choose Property" option in the monitor.
RDPMods.DLL
RDPHTML.DLL
These files are critical to the correct functioning of the IRM.  The size and date of the files are displayed so that RDP support can determine if your IRM has the correct version.
E- Mail Server In order for e-mail confirmations to be delivered to Internet guests, the e-mail system must be installed.   Various session e-mails are sent to RDP for tracking purposes and can also be sent to an e-mail address at the property.
Protobase File Path The path to the Protobase bridge computer for credit card transactions.

The IRM also displays a summary of  IRM business for the day broken down into Number of Reservations Made, Total Nightly Room Charges, Other charges, Travel Agent Commissions and Total Number of People.

Configuring the Internet Reservation Module

The Internet Reservation Module (IRM) allows Internet guests to make reservations directly into the RDP system without involvement from the property’s reservation staff.  This section provides links to instructions for configuring the IRM after the Windows 2000/2003 bridge server has been installed.

Remember to backup the C:\Inetpub directory every day on the IRM server to avoid losing important files and pictures.  See Backup for more details.
