Error 8520
Cause of this problem:
Windows Vista limits all users to Standard user permissions, regardless of
whether or not they are logged in under an administrator-equivalent account.
With User Account Control (UAC), users that have been configured as
'Administrators' can perform certain administrative level functions by
responding to a Windows prompt, however, this behavior does not extend to the
auto-start of the Pervasive PSQL Workgroup Engine.
Solution Notes:
Pervasive recommends that you configure the Pervasive PSQL v9 Workgroup engine
to run as a service. This allows the Workgroup engine to run under the Local
System account, or under a user designated account.
For more information about about configuring the Pervasive PSQL v9 Workgroup
engine to run as a service see the White Paper:
Pervasive PSQL v9 Compatibility with Windows Vista
Installation
time on Windows Vista is Slow
Problem Description:
Installation time on Windows Vista is twice or more slower than non-Vista
operating systems on equivalent hardware
Problem Environment:
Pervasive PSQL v10
Window Vista
Solution Notes:
Microsoft has confirmed that this is expected behavior because of the increased
number of filter drivers such as UAC Virtualization and Vista Search Indexing.
