Added 7/17/03 - Article ID#: K000171
This article applies to RDP's standard housekeeping system.
Field 34 in the Reservation Detail concerns whether or not Daily Maid Service should be active for a given reservation. If the Daily Maid Service is set to Y, then Housekeeping Status of the reservation will be changed to “D” when 212-Post Room & Tax is run. If the Daily Maid Service is set to N, then Housekeeping Status of the reservation will not be changed when 212-Post Room & Tax is run.

When making a reservation, you can predetermine the entry in Line 34 by switching the 219-1 switch to Yes, No, or Prompt.

If “Yes”, then each new reservation will automatically have Y entered in Line 34. If “No”, then each new reservation will automatically have N entered in Line 34. If “Prompt”, then as each new reservation is made, RDP will prompt the reservationist whether or not to have Daily Cleaning. The reservationist can then enter Y or N as applicable.

In addition to predetermining the setting in Line 34 of the Reservation Detail, use of the switch has additional ramifications. If the 219-1 Switch is set to “No”, then when the 212-Post Room & Tax is run, then the Housekeeping Status of all rooms will not be changed, regardless of how the Daily Maid field is set.
For example: Reservation has Daily Maid set to Y. 219-1 Switch is set to Yes or Prompt. When 212-Post Room & Tax is run, the Housekeeping Status of the room is set to “D”. See reservations 338 and 340 below.

Alternate 1: Reservation has Daily Maid set to N. 219-1 Switch is set to Yes or Prompt. When 212-Post Room & Tax is run, the Housekeeping Status of the room is not changed. See reservation 336 above.
Alternate 2: Reservation has Daily Maid set to Y. 219-1 Switch is set to No. When 212-Post Room & Tax is run, the Housekeeping Status of the room is not changed.

Note that the status of the Daily Maid field does not affect whether or not the Housekeeping Status is changed at check-out or upon room move. To affect the Housekeeping Status at check-out, see Switch 219-3.
To affect the Housekeeping Status upon room move, see Switch 419-13.

Set switch #219-1 to Yes/No/Prompt as preferred.
