Rebuild All Critical Files

Overview

A new option exists within the RDP "File Rebuild" utility (#994 on the System Utilities menu) for rebuilding all critical RDP data files.  Do NOT run this new option without first consulting RDP Support.  Also, prior to running the new option, be sure a current backup is available.  

In order to rebuild all critical system files, select option "994" - "Rebuild an RDP Data File" from the System Utilities menu (99).  Select option "C" - "Rebuild ALL Critical Files".  The following warning is displayed.

Please note the following:

  1. Entering a "Y" at the above warning begins the process of rebuilding ALL critical RDP data files.

  2. The process may take up to 24 hours.

  3. You must have a current backup prior to beginning this process.

  4. Do NOT begin the process prior to consulting an RDP Support technician.

Files rebuilt with this option include:

01 TABLFILE.DAT Stores all critical system records, including market codes, source of business codes, the program control table, file layouts, etc.
63 STATFILE.DAT Contains all statistical records for calculating revenue by market code, room type, source-of-business, etc.
67 OTOTALyy.DAT Stores revenue and transaction totals for owners, travel agents, groups, and credit card companies.
69 AVAILABL.DAT Stores room availability
70 UNITS.DAT Stores all room information
72 GROUPMST.DAT Stores all group master information
73 AGENTS.DAT Stores all travel agent master information
74 CCARDS.DAT Stores all credit card master information
78 HOUSKEEP.DAT Stored records for customers with the Enhanced Housekeeping module installed.
80 HRESERVE.DAT Stores all reservation information
85 HEXPENSE.DAT Stores all transaction information for reservations, groups, credit card companies, travel agents, and owners.
86 VOUCFILE.DAT Stores all RDP voucher (check) information
90 BOOKHIST.DAT Stores all non-active reservation information
92 HEXPHIST.DAT Stores all non-active reservation transactions
93 RATEPLAN.DAT Stores all rate plans, packages, and components

 

To Enable

  1. Update to Version 12.02, revision #131.

  2. Use option "C" after selecting option 994 on the System Utilities menu.

To Disable

This option is available in all Version 12.02 systems, revision #131 and higher.
