Tape Chart passes the Room Type for New Bookings

Added: 12/22/2000 - Version - 12.02

Overview

Many properties use the reservation tape chart (option 142 on the Reservations, Front Desk, and Night Audit menus) for checking availability.  Once an available room is found in the tape chart, the reservationist uses the <F10 - New Reservation> key for booking the room.  In previous versions, RDP passed the arrival date from the tape chart to the reservation booking screen.  Now, with Version 12.02, revision #131, the system also passes the room type.

For example, a reservationist is searching for a two-bedroom (2B) unit from March 6th through March 10th.  The reservationist finds an available room, places the cursor on the appropriate arrival date (March 6th in this example), and presses <F10 - New Res>.

After selecting the <F10 - New Res> option, the system begins the reservation booking process.  The arrival date and the room type are now passed from the tape chart to the new reservation.
