Pervasive Database Engine on Data Server
is Too Old (Version 6.1x)

Added: 7/01/02
Version:  12.02 - Revision:  217
Article ID#: F000064

If you are using an old version of the Pervasive/ Btrieve database, it is absolutely essential that you purchase and install a more current version. RDP supports the following:

If you are running Btrieve 6.10x on an old Novell Server, it is time to purchase a new Windows 2000 Server, along with Pervasive.SQL Version 8.  A new Windows 2003 server will last at least five years and accommodate all planned RDP enhancements, such as our RDPWin Windows based system.

The system will provide a warning if an older version of Btrieve is installed.  It is possible to enter the RDP system after receiving the warning for old Btrieve 6.10x until 3/31/2003. However, significant data loss will probably occur. For example, all existing reservations could be lost.
