1. Our New Frequent Guest Module allows guests to access the IRM using their frequent guest number. Silver Cloud Inns have successfully launched their Silver Rewards program with great success.
Located in the greater Seattle-area,
Silver Cloud Inns have successfully installed 11 Internet Reservation Modules. Each
IRM in the Silver Cloud chain is running on its own Windows 2000 Server.
The Silver Cloud Inns have been a prominent development partner for
making the IRM more useful to the business traveler and repeat guests. They have
launched a Silvers Reward program on the IRM in the last year and have acquired
over 10,000 members. This is a great marketing technique that implements the
" corporate IRM reservation.
Silver Rewards Program:
All guests can sign up for a Silver Rewards number and can
earn 1 point for every room rental dollar spent at the property. There is no
limit to the number of points one can earn and the points do not expire. These
points can be traded in for free room nights, Alaskan Air miles or American
Express gift cheques. The IRM guest is prompted for their frequent guest number,
this number is stored on their guest history record in RDP and is also stamped
on every reservation (in comment field 9) that the guest makes. Front desk
staff run a daily report that lists all checked-out Silver Rewards guests and
updates their individual accounts.

RDP now has the ability to Wait List Reservations
using the IRM. If specific dates are blocked from the IRM, or a room is not
available, a guest can submit a Wait List Request. A screen similar to the
following will appear when the either of the above scenarios occur.

Customers can create an HTML file to display more
information about why the dates are blocked. The file name is defined by the
property, but must be entered in "Block IRM" in the field for 'HTML
Help File'. The file must be saved in \\inetpub\wwwroot\irm\usertext\blockreasons.
In the example below, XMAS.htm will display if a guest tries to make a
reservation between 12/20/02 and 1/10/03, MEMDAY.htm will display if dates are
selected between 5/25/03 and 6/2/03.

Submit a Wait List Request
Once the guest chooses the " Add to Wait
List " option when specific dates are blocked from the IRM or a room is not
available, a Wait List Request form will display and will advise the guest upon
submission of the form their reservation will be added to a Wait List and a
representative from the property will contact them as soon as a room becomes
available.

Once a Guest submits the form a reservation is
generated in room type N/RWL. The guest is also entered into guest history
and an email is sent to the property and guest confirming the specific of the
requests.
A link to "Add to Wait List" only appears if 1 of the following scenarios occur:
To enable wait list reservations the RDP Wait List Module must be installed.
3. A great option for return guests is
to display availability for a specific room number. This option is useful
for return guests that know a specific unit meets their needs. A new
Monitor switches allows for a list of room names to display when 'Display a
Specific Room Number' is selected from the Search Type Page.
Display a Specific Room Number

A great option for return guests is to display
availability for a specific room number. This option is useful for return
guests that know a specific unit meets their needs. After selecting
this option, the guest will be prompted for a starting date for rate
calculation. If this switch is selected, rates will be displayed with the
availability calendar. An alphabetized list of homes and their names are
displayed on this screen to help guide the IRM guest. These names can be stored
in RDPDOS, in field 3 of the unit master.

Overview
A link can be created from the Marketing
Web Site to a specific room type. Internet Guest can save time by directly
going to the Room Type they want. When combined with the Custom sequenced room
type display feature, the guest will see the next best match as deemed by the
property. This feature is also advantageous when a property wants to run a
special on hard to sell unit types.
This feature can also be modified to
direct the guest to a specific unit or condominium. Many properties have guests
that stay in the same unit year after year. For those valued returning guests,
adding a link directly to the room calendar for a specific room from the
marketing website is a plus. The guest can save time by going straight to the
availability page for the requested room/unit.

5. A new Monitor switch displays HTML files for people field descriptions in order:
Details: Display Detailed HTML Descriptions of People Classes:
In the IRM, people class descriptions default to
the descriptions in RDP Dos. However, properties that sell packages and use
all 4 people classes may want to display a more detailed description. To
activate this feature check the box " Display HTML Descriptions of people
classes, under the reservation section, on the monitor configuration page.

This serves 2 purposes
Short and Long HTML descriptions can be displayed, as shown below:

Each People class has a corresponding People#Short.htm
and People#Long.htm file in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\irm\usertext.
6. IRM prompts for the credit card security code or CID number.
The latest version of the IRM now prompts the guest for the credit card ID number when filling in the reservation form on the IRM. The Card ID is required for American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa credit cards. It is the 3 or 4 digit number on the back of the credit card. The Major credit card companies are now requiring this information be sent to them as part of the transaction activity. Non-compliance can result in higher fees. The CID number is now required in both RDPDOS and the IRM.| Home | RDPWin | RDP-DOS | IRM/IRM.Net | Open A Web Support Ticket |
