RDP Reporter must be running 8.5.  If upgrading, customers must reinstall the Reporter Client on every workstation.  View enhancements.  To determine the version of Reporter installed at your property, start Reporter.  The version is in the top left corner.  In the example below the version is 8.5.001.

RDP Reporter/Crystal Reports Components

The RDP Reporter is designed to view and print RDP Crystal Reports with the RDP-DOS system and to send e-mails.  The installation and update of Reporter is not required for those customers using our RDPWin system.  Instructions for installing RDP Reporter are set out below:

  1. The RDP Reporter.exe must be copied once to your network into the \RDP1202\Reports folder during the initial installation and each time RDP modifies the Reporter program.  See Updating Reporter.

  2. RDP standard Crystal Reports and associated DDF files must be copied during installation to the network drive and repeated each time RDP releases additional standard reports.
  3. The RDP Reporter.exe has associated "DLL" files that must be installed on the "C" drive of each workstation that will use RDP Reporter.  This process must be done on each workstation during initial installation of RDP Reporter.  It must also be repeated when RDP Reporter changes to a new "major version".  The "major version" is indicated by changing the first number of the version, such as changing from version 7.58 to 8.5.4.  (ie, from "7.xx to 8.xx is a major version change that requires the re-installation of RDP Reporter DLL files on all workstations using Reporter).  See item "3" below for instructions to install the Reporter DLL files on each workstation.

Note:  When there is a "minor" change, such as from Version 8.5.4 to 8.5.5, you do not need to reinstall the "DLL" files.  Only a new reporter is required.

Warning:  RDP Reporter is only supported on Windows 2000 Professional or XP Professional workstations.  Windows 95/98/ME/NT are not supported.

Updating Reporter.exe
Current Version as of 6/8/2004 is 8.5.010

  3. Click the Save button.  Use the "Save as" drop-down box and browse to your RDP\Reports folder on your data server.  The file must be saved to the data server, to the RDP\Reports folder.
  4. Click Save.  If an error occurs it probably means that the Reporter is still open on a workstation. The error usually appears as below:

The RDP reporter Client must be installed on each workstation.  Installation results vary depending on the operating system and any other applications installed on that workstation.  If errors are encountered during client installation, try un-installing the reporter with the steps below:

  1. Select Start - Settings - Control Panel - Add Remove Programs.
  2. Remove all programs with the words Reporter.  You may see "RDP Reporter", or Reporter, or Reporter.exe, depending on what has been installed on this workstation.
